Edgar Grant “Red” Pistole, 67, of Winchester, passed away Oct. 24, 2002, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Pistole was born in White County.
He had been a minister with the Church of Christ denomination.
Pistole was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Faye Pistole and two brothers, Edward Pistole and Abie Pistole.

Ramon Garry Emery

Ramon Garry Emery, 52, of Huntington, Ind., passed away Oct. 25, 2002, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Emery was born Jan. 23, 1950, in Cookeville, to Ramon C. Emery and Mary Ella Robinson Emery.
He served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam and was also a member of the Indiana National Guard. He was a 1968 graduate of Monterey High School and had been a warehouse supervisor with Isolatek International for 20 years.
Emery was preceded in death by his father.

Commission delays selection of judicial commissioners

Controversy among county commissioners has resulted in a one-month delay of selecting two judicial commissioners for the upcoming term.
Judicial commissioners for White County are appointed on a yearly basis. In the October county commission meeting each year, two recommendations to fill the positions are made to the full court. However, this October’s commission meeting saw the delay of hiring the warrant writers until the November meeting, which is past the official take-over date for the new positions.

Spencer Blake Stewart, 31, of Decatur, passed away Oct. 17, 2002, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Stewart was born July 24, 1971, in Putnam County.
He had been employed in sales. Stewart was a member of the Decatur Jaycees and the Rock ‘n’ Country Band in Cookeville.

William Earl “Billy” Welch Jr., 38, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 19, 2002, at
White County Community Hospital.
Welch was born Dec. 18, 1963, in Ravenna, Ohio, to William Earl Welch Sr. and Patricia Diamond Smith.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Welch.

Richard Molnar, 69, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 23, 2002.
Molnar served in the Korean Conflict and had been an electrical contractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Molnar and Anna Mae Biszaha Molnar.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Molnar of Sparta; five children, Faith Molnar, Richard A. Molnar, Dawn Robinson and Leah Koch all of New Jersey and Gail Swift of Ohio; one sister, Lorraine Lloyd of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Oct. 25, 2002, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Crossville. Veral VanWinkle will be the presiding overseer.

Jentlelee Mosley White, 80, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 23, 2002, at Life Care Center of Sparta.
White was born Feb. 26, 1922, in
White County, to Joe and Sophia Grissom Mosley.
She was retired from Ben Lomand Cooperative.
White was preceded in death by James Floyd White.
Survivors include two cousins, Belle Sims and Sherree Shaw both of Knoxville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, W.D. and Ruth White of Walling; one sister-in-law, Frances Day of Walling; and several nieces and nephews.
