Mary Frances Presley McBride, 87, of Sparta, passed away April 4, 2005.
McBride was born May 2, 1917, in White County, to Tom and Leddie Chatman Presley.
She had been a homemaker.
McBride was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny McBride.
Survivors include seven daughters, Lola Bumbalough, of Sparta, Helen Irwin, of Maryville, Lillian Holly, Shirley Torres, both of Winter Haven, Fla., Ruby Irwin, of Locust Grove, Ga., Elizabeth McBride, of Knoxville, Juanita Beavers, of Dundee, Fla.; one step-daughter, Mildred Ramo, of Ore.; one step-son, William Dyer, of Fla.; one sister, Bessie Lee Sims, of Sparta; three half-brothers, Jimmy Lloyd Presley, Henry Presley, Robert Presley, all … CONTINUED

Vestol Lee Hawkins, 72, of Sparta, passed away March 30, 2005.
Hawkins was born March 29, 1933, in White County, to Lonnie D. Hawkins and Annie Elizabeth Allen Hawkins.
He had been a welder.
Hawkins was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Hawkins, of Sparta; three sons, Carl Ray Hawkins, of Knoxville, Lonnie D. Hawkins II, Johnny Lee Hawkins, both of Sparta; mother, Annie Elizabeth Hawkins, of Sparta; sister, Patsy Bumbalough, Peggy Murphy, both of Sparta; and three grandchildren, Rick Allen, Lonnie D. Hawkins III, and Jennifer Lee Hawkins.
