Rev. William Harris Baker, 52, of Baxter, passed away June 19, 2006, at Cookeville Regional Hospital.
Baker was born May 12, 1954, in White County, to Claudie and Laura Elizabeth Baker.
Baker was a member of Scott Avenue Baptist Church, and was serving as interim pastor at Park Roads Baptist Church. He also pastored at Mt. Union, in Clarkrange, Johnson Baptist, in White County, Crossroad Baptist, in Gainesboro and Harpeth Baptist Church, in Franklin.
Baker was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bucky Baker; and two sisters, Geraldine Baker and Montie Lee Winnett.

Kid’s Kloset consignment gives parents and grandparents the opportunity to buy their children name brand clothing, bedding and furniture at prices almost everyone can afford.
Doris Alverson and her sister, Charlene Andrews, opened the consignment shop to accompany an existing custom curtain business the two began about three years ago.
“We felt the consignment shop would be a good outlet for parents trying to find quality clothing for their children at a reasonable price,” said Alverson.

Paul “Pete” L. Thiele, 70, of Sparta, passed away June 20, 2006, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Thiele was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Mongaup, N.Y., to Henry H. and Anna Jane Carr Thiele.
Thiele served his country as a firefighter. He also served in the U.S. Marines and fought in the Korean Conflict.
Thiele was preceded in death by his parents.

England was born on Nov. 25, 1932, in DeKalb County, to Henry and Miranda Pittman Adcock.

Dan Murphy Cummings, 88, of Doyle, passed away May 10, 2006, at Masters Health Care, in Algood.
Cummings was born Feb. 2, 1918, in White County, to Joseph Miller Cummings and Cleo Green Cummings.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Troy Wilhite recently purchased West Bockman Citgo and is already becoming more competitive by lowering gasoline prices.
Wilhite is returning to the retail oil business after selling Kountry Kwik Pik a few years ago.
“We decided it was time to get settled back into town,” said Wilhite.
He owned Kountry Kwik Pic eight years, so he has experience in the gasoline industry.
West Bockman Citgo is a convenience mart and sells a variety of grocery items, tobacco products, and lotto tickets, as well as gasoline.
Wilhite, his wife Donna and his son, Cody, operate the store. Their gas supplier is Harris Oil.

Brandy Michelle Gentry, 22, of Knoxville, passed away June 3, 2006, at University of Tennessee Medical Center, in Knoxville.
Gentry was born Nov. 14, 1983, in Cookeville, to Lewis and Cheryl Foster Gentry.
Gentry was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margaret Gentry, and grandfathers, Charles Foster and George Martin Gentry.
Survivors include her parents, Lewis and Cheryl Foster Gentry; grandmother, Elizabeth Foster, of Sparta; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Rachel Gentry, of Cookeville; and one niece, Madison Gentry, of Cookeville.

Cheryl Rose Maynard, 57, of Sparta, passed way June 2, 2006.
Maynard was born Jan. 19, 1949, in Cumberland County, to Glen Norris and Arxie Young Norris.
She had been employed by Tennessee Department of Correction.
Maynard was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Maynard, of Sparta; two daughters, Rebecca Diane Cooper and Monica Dawn Hedgecoth, both of Crossville; one stepdaughter, Teresa Welch, of Cookeville; six grandchildren; father, Glen Norris, of Crossville; and one half-sister, Gina Webb, of Crossville.
