Willie Katherine Moore Davis, 95, of Cookeville, formerly of Sparta, passed away Oct. 10, 2006.
Davis was born Sept. 28, 1911, in White County, to Luther Moore and Mary Katherine Broyles Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Oscar Madison ‘Matt’ Davis.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Davis Birdwell, of Cookeville; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Nelson ‘Bob’ and Wanda Davis, of Baxter; five grandchildren, Diane Ragland and husband Larry, Pam Manus and husband Monte, Michael Birdwell and wife Tammy, Brenda Birdwell, Annette Fuqua and husband Roger; six great-grandchildren, Hillary Getsey and husband Matthew, Mark Manus and wife Amber, Venessa Irwin and husband John, … Read More

Self Storage business keeping White County de-cluttered

One year ago Wes and Shirley Klennon bought One Eleven Self Storage and Spring Street Self
Storage, and the business is growing with leaps and bounds.
Between the two locations they have 208 storage units and are in process of adding 95 more units.
The goal is to eventually have 350 total units between the two locations.
The current unit sizes range from 5×10 to 10×20, but they are planning to add 12×20 units to the One Eleven location in the next few months. Plans are also underway to add 12×30 units next spring.

“Joey” Joseph Thomas Goff, 44, of Magee, passed away Sept. 14, 2006, at his residence.
Goff was born Feb. 9, 1962, in Detroit, to Taylor M. Goff Sr. and Annie R. Goff, of Magee.
He had been self-employed in the construction business. Goff loved people, music, poetry, and he never met a stranger. He lived with many battles and illnesses for which God spared his life for 44 years.
Goff was preceded in death by his father and a special friend known only in his heart.

Dorothy Mercile Lewis, 80, passed away Sept. 20, 2006, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Lewis was born Dec. 7, 1925, in Cumberland County, to Arthur and Maude Crawford Watley.
Her enjoyments in life were family, friends, and foster children. She was a longtime member of Ridgedale Free Will Baptist Church.
Lewis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer S. Lewis; son, Basil Lewis; seven sisters, Lillie Page, Rose Parks, Louise Rogers, Virginia Wong, Juanita Brown, Linda Wong and Alma Wilson; three brothers, William Henry Watley, Benny Watley and Edwin Watley; and two grandchildren, Kevin Lewis and the infant son of Nelson and Virginia Lewis.

T.J. Holeman, 75, of Sparta, passed away Sept. 29, 2006, at his residence.
Holeman was June 29, 1931, in White County, to E.G. and Maude Reels Holeman.
He had worked as a laborer at White County Farmers Co-op for many years.
Holeman was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Pauline Cunningham, Ruby Randolph, and Jenny Louise Holeman; two brothers, John Thomas Holeman and Bill Lacky; and one daughter, Susan Cruise.
