Bro. Fate Dibrell Wilson, 79, of Sparta, passed away May 27, 2007.
Wilson was born June 3, 1927, in White County, to William Petway Wilson and Hattie Leota Stockwell Wilson.
He served as a Baptist minister for 50 years.
Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl Wilson, Sydney L. Wilson; and three sisters, Maggie Brown, Eva Denton, and Dorothy Miller.

William Glenn Farris Sr., 75, of Bartlett, formerly of Sparta, passed away May 22, 2007.
Farris served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was a retired bus driver and a former employee of Malone and Hyde.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Farris, of Bartlett; one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Shelby Farris, of Lakeland; and two brothers, Frank Farris and Jimmy Farris, both of Memphis.
Services were 1 p.m., May 26, 2007, at Thurman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harold Woolf, 84, of Sparta, passed away May 23, 2007.
Woolf was born July 16, 1922, in Stewartsville, N.J., to Claude Woolf and Florence Feltman Woolf.
He was retired from Conrial and was a member of the Sparta congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Woolf was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Russell Woolf; and one son, William Woolf.

Albert Anderson Swindell, 86, of Sparta, passed away May 16, 2007.
Swindell was born May 7, 1921, in White County, to Pleas Anderson Swindell and Della Jane Worley Swindell.
Swindell served in World War II and received the Philippine Liberation Medal and Bronze Star. He had been employed with Sparta Planing Mill as a carpenter for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mollye Thurman Swindell; two infant siblings; four brothers, Robert Swindell, Hershell Swindell, Herman Swindell, Tom Swindell; and two sisters, Treva Reeves and Alberta Speck Cayce.

Albert Swindell, 86, passed away May 16, 2007.
Swindell was the son of Pleas Anderson Swindell and Della Worley Swindell.
He had been employed with Sparta Planing Mill as a carpenter for many years alongside his brothers, Hershell, Herman and Tom Swindell, who are now deceased.
Swindell served in World War II and received the Philippine Liberation Medal and Bronze Star.
He will lie in state at Thurman Funeral Home on May 17, 2007, with the funeral at 11 a.m., May 18, 2007, at Central Church of Christ.
Swindell’s complete obituary will be in the May 21, 2007, edition of The Expositor.

Michelle Marie Williams, 42, of Sparta, passed away May 10, 2007.
Williams was born May 2, 1965, in Chicago.
She had worked for Pacesetters as a laborer.
Survivors include her husband, Perry Williams, of Sparta; two sons, Jay Iceman and Joshua Iceman, both of Sparta; mother, Phyllis Sasser, of Sparta; father, Bud Notstine, of Ohio; one brother, Daniel Notstine, of McMinnville; one sister, Dawn Eskew, of Sparta; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be 1 p.m., May 12, 2007, at her residence, 942 Idlewild Drive.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.

Dewey Leon Fowler, 80, of Sparta, passed away May 8, 2007.
Fowler was born March 3, 1927, in White County, to Samuel Raymond Fowler and Ollie Mae Goodwin Fowler.
He was retired from Detroit Police Department and was active the White County community. He had served as president of the Republican Party, was a Master Mason, active member of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church, and helped obtain drug dogs for the DARE program.
Fowler was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Rachel Fowler Gailbreath and Elsie Fowler Bowington.
