Dewey Leon Fowler

Dewey Leon Fowler, 80, of Sparta, passed away May 8, 2007.
Fowler was born March 3, 1927, in White County, to Samuel Raymond Fowler and Ollie Mae Goodwin Fowler.
He was retired from Detroit Police Department and was active the White County community. He had served as president of the Republican Party, was a Master Mason, active member of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church, and helped obtain drug dogs for the DARE program.
Fowler was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Rachel Fowler Gailbreath and Elsie Fowler Bowington.

Lassie Jane Lafever Hutchings

Lassie Jane Lafever Hutchings, 95, of Kingston Springs, formerly of Sparta, passed away May 4, 2007, at Alive Hospice, in Nashville.
Hutchings was born April 14, 1912, in White County, to William Thomas Lafever and Ann Mills Lafever.
She had been employed at the shirt factory.
Hutchings was preceded in death by her husband, Arta Cecil Hutchings; two brothers, Dallas and Kermit Lafever; four sisters, Clara Johnson, Mae Dunn, Flossie Howell and Notie Farley.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Fenner, of Kingston Springs; one grandson, Roger Fenner, of Kingston Springs; and two great-grandchildren, Paul Fenner and Mary Ann Fenner, both of Kingston Springs.

William Austin Mullican, 75, of Sparta, passed away May 1, 2007.
Mullican was born Sept. 22, 1931, in White County, to William Clyde Mullican and Odessa L. Jones Mullican.
He had been a mechanic, inventor and drapery creator and installer.
Mullican was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Jeremy Buckner.
