The Warrior baseball team closed out the week of March 24th with wins over Bledsoe County and Coffee County.

Clean up has begun at West Sparta Church of Christ after a 19-year-old Sparta man reportedly broke into the historic church, shattering numerous windows and destroying multiple items inside the sanctuary.
Esad Muheljic, of Sparta, was charged on March 31, 2008, with burglary and vandalism over $100,000. He was booked into the White County Justice Center and is being held on $200,000 bond.
One door on the west side of the church was busted, sending glass into the foyer. After entry was made, papers were scattered throughout the entry, more windows were smashed, electronic equipment maliciously damaged and then thrown around the sanctuary. Near the altar, tables and … CONTINUED

Judy Duane Haston , 56, passed away gently March 29, 2008. at her residence in Nashville after along and courageous battle with a brain tumor.
Haston retired in March, 2007, as Special Education Transition and Speech Language Coordinator for State of Tennessee, where she served for 30 years. She also was a professional model and was recognized by More Magazine among the most beautiful women in America.     The White County High School baseball team picked up a pair of much needed wins ending a five game skid as last week came to a close.
    WCHS played host to Bledsoe County Thursday and then welcomed Coffee County to Pearson Park for a game that had been rescheduled from an earlier date.  A pair of senior pitchers took the hill for the Warriors picking up the wins.

WCHS softball and baseball action on Monday

Dalton Bain waits at the plate on a Warren County runner in Monday's game. The Warriors were defeated 8-3 by the Pioneers in District 7AAA action. The two teams are scheduled to square off Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Sparta.

    The White County High school softball and baseball teams fought off the rain and got in their regularly scheduled games on Monday.
