Warriors fall victim to Cavaliers again

Let the games begin. The Warrior football team runs out to start their 2008 season. The Warriors played host to arch rival Cookeville and were defeated 35-14. It was the 13th consecutive win by the Cavaliers over the Warriors.

Looking for room. Seth McDonald looks for room against the Cookeville defense. McDonald tallied 114 yards of offense in the contest, but had to miss almost the entire second half with leg cramps.

Trying to elude. Warrior sophomore quarterback, Conor Sparkman, does his best to elude a Cookeville defender.

Warriorette soccer drops tough one

Controlling the ball. Star Simpson battles a Cookeville player for control of the ball during Thursday game. The Warriorettes were defeated 2-0 by the Lady Cavs in the season opener.

It’s a battle. The Warriorettes battled Cookeville tough in a very physical contest between the two District 7AAA teams. After a scoreless first half, the Lady Cavs scored twice in the second half to take the win.

    As was the case with most of the WCHS sports teams this past week, the Warriorette soccer team played host to Cookeville Thursday.

Teaming up. Lacy Yslas and Jessica Wilson team up to deflect a Cookeville spike during Thursday’s match. The Warriorettes were defeated by the Lady Cavaliers.

   Cookeville’s Lady Cavaliers are one of the favorites to win the District 7AAA volleyball crown this season.  They showed why when they visited Roy Sewell Gymnasium Thursday.
    The Lady Cavaliers, who feature Lipscomb signee, Kaci Green, showed their power when they defeated the Warriorettes in three straight sets (25-13, 25-18 and 25-14).
