9/10’s fall into loser’s bracket

Posted on July 21, 2009 12:12 am by Sparta Live

Trenton Hodges on the mound for the 9/10 year old Sparta all stars.

Sparta’s 9/10 year old baseball all stars fell into the state tournament loser’s bracket Monday with a defeat at the hands of Donelson.
Sparta actually scored first in the game, but that would be their only lead.  The maroon and gray team just could not catch a break in the contest and Donelson was able to take advantage rolling to the 9-2 win.
That drops Sparta into the loser’s bracket where they will take on the winner of the Lawrenceburg/Lexington game Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Check Thursday’s edition for full details of state tournament action. … Read More

Off the field

Posted on July 20, 2009 12:12 am by Sparta Live

Those of you who were at the pitching machine all star game on Friday saw me be asked to leave the field.

Standing off to the side making pictures. Now, I may have over exaggerated a little bit. I wasn’t actually “thrown out” of the game, but everyone who was there watching had a good time laughing about it and telling me that they had actually seen me thrown out of … Read More
