Exhibition celebrates Stoddart’s fine art photography

On Saturday, Nov. 14, 4-7 p.m.,  there will be an exhibition featuring artworks from both Jason and Jack Stoddart on display at the Clark House, 1010 N. Oak St., in Livingston. The exhibition is open to the public. Please RSVP by calling (931) 783-2003. Admission is free. Remembering the World War I Doughboy: The History of Tennessee’s War Memorial​

An exhibition highlighting Tennessee’s efforts to preserve the memory of those who fought and died in World War I and the history behind the War Memorial Building will open at the Military Branch Museum on Nov. 7.

World War I was often referred to as the “war to end all wars.” In 1919, with soldiers returning from overseas, the memory of those who would never return was fresh in the minds of many Americans. Ernest “E.N.” Walker,  of Van Buren County, passed away Nov. 1, 2015, at Veterans Administration Hospital, in Murfreesboro.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Houser announces resignation

For the 8th time in the last 20 years, White County High School will be looking for a new football coach.

Warrior football coach, Matthan Houser, announced his resignation Monday.  Houser has been at the helm of the Warrior football program for four seasons.  Since taking over the team prior to the 2012 season, Houser has guided the team to a 17-25 mark and made a pair of trips to the playoffs, including the first-ever home playoff game for the Warriors.

High school basketball practice started today across the state of Tennessee.  The Warriors and Warriorettes both hit the court today as well.


Patsy Ann Caldwell

Patsy Ann Caldwell, 70, of Spencer, passed away Nov. 1, 2015, at Generations Center of Spencer.

She was born Aug. 11, 1945, in Sparta, the daughter of Maluie Wagnor Caldwell and Tom Caldwell

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Nov. 4, 2015, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Yong Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9-11 a.m., Nov. 4, at the funeral home.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 


Truck or Treat at Pro Air

White County emergency services agencies participated in a truck or treat event at Pro Air. Children not only got candy, but also got to see emergency vehicles and hang out with fire and rescue workers.
