Gothard twins retire from TWRA

Tim and Tom Gothard are saying farewell to long careers as Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officers in Putnam County and Jackson County. After a combined 64 years in law enforcement, the Gothard twins are retiring. However, they’re not going out quietly.

The identical twins spent their final days of employment teaching rambunctious children at Camp Monterey.

“It’s something we really enjoy and believe in. We plan to continue helping with hunter education and teaching children,” shared Tom Gothard. The brothers also share a deep commitment to protecting wildlife. They knew their calling from a young age, after seeing their grandfather’s career as a Tennessee game warden.

Cassville Elementary open house

There will be an open house at Cassville Elementary School, 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016. Principal Dr. Larry Thompson, teachers and staff invite everyone to attend and view the new additions at the facility and learn about the school’s academic mission.

 


Geraldene Blaylock

Geraldene Blaylock, 73, of Sparta, passed away Sept. 30, 2016, at Saint Thomas Hospital, in Sparta.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
