Shooting on Mahan Road

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday night emergency services responded to a call about a gunshot fired at 395 Mahan Road. One man was rushed to a Putnam County Hospital with what witnesses on the scene said was a gunshot to the stomach. As of press time, the victim was in serious but stable condition.

The Warriors add to their lead in the second quarter and lead the Lions 36-22 at the half. The Warriors were led by Dyson Reece in the first half with 11 points.

Warriorettes move to 7-0 on the season

Warriorettes pick up their seventh win of the season with a 65-39 win over Red Bank High School. The Warriorettes were led by Gracie Dodgen who finished with 32 points. The Warriorettes will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Tullahoma to take on the Lady Wildcats at 6 pm.

Gracie Dodgen helped the Warriorettes extend their lead over Red Bank scoring 15 points in just the third quarter to help the Warriorettes lead the Lady Lions 57-35 after three.

The Warriorettes outscore the Red Bank Lady Lions 19-7 in the second quarter and lead at the half 32-23. Gracie Dodgen leads the Warriorettes with 11 points in the first half.

Three-car accident sends mother and child to hospital

A mother and child were rushed to St. Thomas Highlands Hospital Thursday afternoon as a result of a wreck involving three cars on Smithville Highway. Three adults and one child were involved in the collision with only the mother and child having non-life threatening injuries. The two other adults involved walked away with minor cuts and bruises. Two of the vehicles were severely damaged while one was barely scathed.

Warriorettes move to 6-0

Kanden Reeves goes up for a layup against Signal Mountain, on Tuesday night. Reeves had 11 points total in the two games to open up the week.

The Warriorette basketball team improved to 6-0, picking up a pair of wins at the beginning of the week.

On Monday night, the Warriorettes led 34-15 against Bledsoe County at the half. The Warriorettes had to hold on late but picked up a 59-45 win.

On Tuesday night, the Warriorettes and the Signal Mountain Lady Eagles were only separated by five points at the half, with the Warriorettes leading 23-18 heading into the locker room. After the half, the Warriorettes came … CONTINUED


Warriors open up week with 2 wins

Masyn Winningham takes a three in Tuesday night’s win against Signal Mountain. Winningham led the Warriors with 22 points in the win.

The Warrior basketball team hit the road two nights in a row to open up the week and came home both nights with wins. The Warriors, who are now 5-1 on the season, picked up wins over both Bledsoe County and Signal Mountain on Monday and Tuesday nights.

On Monday night, the Warriors used a big night from sophomore Grant Slatten, who finished with 32 points, to take down Bledsoe County by a final score of 68-53.
