Doris Worley Gamble

Doris Worley Gamble, 94, of Sparta, passed away May 23, 2018, at Erlanger Health Systems, in Chattanooga.

Mrs. Gamble was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Atlanta, Georgia, to William Logan Worley and Rowena Harrison Worley.

She worked at White County Hospital as a inpatient insurance clerk for 16 years, was the office manager for American Red Cross for 10 years, and also worked at Walgreens, in Sparta, and enjoyed teaching line dancing.

Mrs. Gamble loved being in plays at Cookeville Drama Center. She appeared in “The Miracle Worker,” “Guys and Dolls,” and “The Man Who Came to Dinner.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dave Gamble; and her siblings.

Survivors include her nephews, Rick LeBleu, Greg LeBleu and wife Lori, David Worley and wife Joan, Jerry Worley and wife Kathie, and Logan Worley; niece, Joann Breismeister; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m., May 26, 2018, at Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Dwight Fuqua will officiate.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
