A grant for almost a half-million dollars has been approved for Upper Cumberland Regional Airport and will be used for a new T-hangar at the facility.
Grants are made available through Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division. Tennessee Aeronautics Commission, which is comprised of five members who are charged with policy planning, reviews grant applications and regulating changes in the state airport system plan.
In a press release last week, Gov. Phil Bredesen said investing in Tennessee’s airports helps them remain competitive and efficient at meeting the needs of businesses and travelers.
State Representative Charles Curtiss and State Senator Charlotte Burks helped secure the funds for the airport.
