Alberta Maxine Blankenship Hickey

Alberta Maxine Blankenship Hickey, 88, of Pikeville, went home to Jesus, on Dec. 19, 2018.
She was born June 30, 1930.
Mrs. Hickey assumed duties of a pastor’s wife very well for over 50 years and was a lifetime member of Sampson Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her family, flowers, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, traveling, cooking, feeding people, and spending time with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Blankenship and Ruby Frady Blankenship; sisters, Naomi Hillis, Clara Mae Jolly; and grandson-in-law, Marty Mooneyham.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Leslie Pleasant Hickey; son, Terry (Fadonna) Hickey; daughters, Linda Singleton (Robbie), Rhonda (Gene) Dodson, Karen Hickey (Ron), Margie Hankins (Jimmy), Charlotte (Tim) Hart; sister, Jean Johnson; aunt, Ruth Oakes Essex; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; huge church family; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life was noon, Dec. 22, 2018, at Pikeville Funeral Home, with burial in Blankenship Cemetery. Bro. Bill Montandon and Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiated.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
