Alma L. Denton Davis

Alma L. Denton Davis, 89, passed away May 11, 2018, at Raintree Manor Nursing Home, in McMinnville.

Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 20, 1929, in White County.

She was owner and operator of the Davis’ Drive-In, in downtown Spencer, which she operated for over 50 years. Mrs. Davis was famous for her cheeseburgers. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Spencer.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Davis; mother, Ola Mae Mason Sparkman, and stepfather, Alonzo Sparkman; daughter, Patricia Ann Myers; and sister, Clara Hodge.

Survivors include her son, Eugene (Linda) Davis, of McMinnville; sister, Linda Haston, of Celina; grandchildren, Shana Smith, Teresa (Shawn) Roberts, Avery (Gina) Myers; great- grandchildren, Jenna Smith, Drew Roberts, Bradi (Shelby) Roberts, Madison Myers, Tatum Myers, Will Myers; great-great- grandchildren, Brantley, Ruby Jane; special family member, Polia Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., May 15, 2018, at Layne Funeral Home Chapel, in Spencer, with burial in Spencer Town Cemetery. Minister Gene Brock will officiate. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., May 14, at the funeral home.

Layne Funeral Home, in Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
