Amy Carter is the new library manager, in Spencer. As an avid reader, it is her desire to help others discover the joy of reading.
“I like when people begin to understand that reading can take them to completely different worlds in the stories,” said Carter
For Carter, the reading passion began at an early age, and she has shared her love of books with her two daughters.
Carter has assumed the responsibility of becoming the caretaker for 10,447 items available to the community of Van Buren. The items for checkout include books, DVDs, reference materials, maps, genealogy information, and local history resources.
The library has a number of other assets available for visitors, including a copier for use at 15 cents per copy. Documents can be faxed for $1 per page, and a number of internet accessible computers are present for research and connecting to others on the world wide web.
A library is one of the cornerstones of any community. It is the storehouse of information and the gateway of knowledge. If it has been a while since you have visited the library, stop on in and welcome Carter to her new position.
