Backpack Assist Ministry reaching out to community

The committee for the Backpack Assist Ministry would like to tell everyone about an event planned for school children in White and Van Buren Counties.
Area businesses and churches are invited to participate.
This is the third year for B.A.M. Backpacks, school supplies and hygiene items are provided to students living in this area.
This event is scheduled for 8-10 a.m., Aug. 9, 2014, at White County Agriculture Complex, at the fairgrounds. Multiple churches and businesses sponsor this event. Many youth groups, school teams, men’s and women’s prayer groups, 4-H groups and grandparents volunteer their time. Everyone is working together to show God’s love and unity in this community.
There are many ways to help – donate a door prize, help setup, help tear down, donate money or volunteer your time.
The giving doesn’t stop on Aug. 9, 2014. With donations and help from the people in the community, B.A.M. provides school supplies to each school monthly, and they are distributed to students as teachers see a need.
Please contact any committee member with questions or concerns. Committee members are: Rita England, Leigh Ann Lynn, Lisa Mackie, Becky Brogden, Lyndee Clark, Carleen Benson, Harlen Simmons, Paul Winchester, Alisa Farmer, DeLissa Cantrell and Joan Belanger.
