Barbara Jean Rice

Barbara Jean Rice, 71, a Green Hill community resident and White County native, passed away, May 30, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Rice was born March 16, 1943.
The co-owner of Rainbow Flowers and Gifts, retired final inspector at A.O. Smith and member of Quebeck Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Ernest McClellan and Lillian Louise Odell Matthews.
Mrs. Rice was married Aug. 12, 1961, to James Leroy Rice, of the Green Hill Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Linda Faye and Charlie Ray Barks.
She is survived by her husband, James Leroy Rice; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Glenda Rice, of McMinnville; two daughters and son-in-law, Kim and Bill Spicer, of McMinnville, Tracy Rice, of the Green Hill Community; four grandchildren, Dusty (Chelsey) Rice, Taylor Spicer, Jessica Spicer, Shelby Rice; special nephew, David Scott, of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Ann and Gary Pryor of Cookeville; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Willie Rice, of McMinnville; and three brothers-in-law, Harold Rice, Charles Rice, both of Sparta, and William (Cindy) Rice, of Tullahoma.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., June 2, 2014, at High Funeral Home, in McMinnville, with burial in Preston Heights Cemetery. David Bratcher will officiate. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m., June 1, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m., June 2, at the funeral home.
High Funeral Home, in McMinnville, is in charge of arrangements.
