Barbara Jean Richmond “Lucy” Price

Barbara Jean Richmond “Lucy” Price, 72, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 27, 2018, at the Saint Thomas West Hospital, in Nashville.

Mrs. Price was born Dec. 20, 1945, in Sparta.

She was the former manager of Cato’s and loved to play cards, with her favorite game being spades, at which she excelled.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward “Donnie” Price; parents, Monroe Burton and Evelyn Richmond Burton; and lifelong friend, James “Bar B Que” Shockley.

Survivors include her son, Willis Edward Price; grandchildren, Heather Strode, James Price, Jordan Price; brother, Norman Burton; sisters, Sharon Burton, Melody Burton; nieces, Brandicah Wright, Kendra Wright; nephew, William Howard “J.R.” Drake; and numerous cousins and extended family.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., March, 3, 2018, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., March 3, at the funeral home. Bro. Robert Burton will officiate.

Tobby Culley, Sam Dibrell, Clay Leftwich Jr., Tony Officer, Anthony Henderson, and Tim Dibrell will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hunter Funeral Home.
