Two undefeated teams will face off in Warrior Stadium, on Friday night, when the Sparta Warriors take the field against Christian Academy of Knoxville.
Both teams are coming into the game unblemished this season. The Warriors have beaten Cannon County and Cumberland County to set up Friday night’s contest. CAK has beaten Anderson County and Clinton County to remain undefeated. The Warriors come in after some strong offensive play. The Warriors have been very successful on the ground, with strong running by Jayden Richmond and Will Griggs. Richmond leads the team on the year with 31 carries and 192 yards for a 6.2 yards per carry average. Griggs has carried the ball 27 times for 190 yards for a 7.0 yard per carry average. Richmond has three rushing touchdowns, and Griggs has rushed for two touchdowns.
The Warriors’ offensive line has played well the first two ball games and must continue that aggressive play against a good CAK team from Knoxville. The running game has allowed the Warriors to control the clock during each game. The Warrior defense must be ready for Friday night. CAK runs a strong spread offense and has shown they can throw the ball when needed. Both teams come in at 2-0. The theme for the game is Red, White, and Blue. The Warriors are asking for all to come out dressed in their patriotic attire to support them, on Sept. 6. Game time is scheduled for a 7 p.m. (CST) kickoff time at Warrior Stadium.
