Bernice Williams, 82, of Cookeville, passed away April 25, 2002, at Bethesda Health Care Center.
Williams was born March 26, 1920, in White County, to Bob and Lillie Selby Johnson.
She was a member of Northeast Church of Christ. Williams was retired from Dixie Home Furniture and had worked many years at Sparta Shirt Factory.
Williams was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Effie Mabe; and three brothers, Gaines Johnson, Comer Johnson and Wesley Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Jay Williams of Cookeville; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Williams of Cookeville; one daughter, Mary Phillips of Cookeville; special caregiver, Eddie Brymer of Cookeville; twin sister, Bernette Randolph of Sparta and sister, Reba Nell Johnson of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Kim Haney, Melinda West and Sharon Atencio; and three great grandchildren, Hunter Philips, Sirus Haney and Amanda West.
Services were held at 2 p.m., April 27, 2002, at the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with burial in Saylors Cemetery in White County. Bro. Malcolm Hill and Bro. Paul Wilmoth officiated.
Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville was in charge of arrangements.
