Bettye A. Savage

On March 10, 2018, while at her home, Bettye A. Savage, 82, of Sparta, went to be with her Lord, whom she loved, adored, and served.
Mrs. Savage was born June 25, 1935, in White City, the daughter of Marvin Dent and Bessie Fletcher Dent.
She was a pastor’s wife who served 58 years with her husband, Ray. Mrs. Savage served on the Kentucky district Nazarene missions council. She was a representative for her local church at general assemblies, district assemblies, mission conventions, and served as a faithful Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Savage was a devoted wife, loving daughter, loyal sister, wonderful mom, and a kind and caring grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lulene Ament, Marie Thomas, Opal Tate; and four brothers, Alfred Dent, J.D. Dent, Lewis Dent, and Jimmy Dent.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Ray Savage, of Doyle; son, Ed Savage II and wife Jenny, of Wildwood, Missouri; two grandchildren, Sarah Joseph and husband James Joseph II, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Grace Savage, of Trenton, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, James Paul Joseph III, David Benjamin Joseph; and sister, Rema Meeks, of Whitwell.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Savage will be 11 a.m., March 17, 2018, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home, in Cookeville, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, in Doyle. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., March 16, and 9-11 a.m., March 17, at the funeral home.
