Bike Sparta is set for Sept. 15

The Aaron Shafer Memorial Foundation proudly presents “Bike Sparta,” on Sept. 15. Registration starts at 8 a.m., at Central Church of Christ, 45 N. Main St., in downtown Sparta. Ride begins at 9 a.m.

The cost is $25 for adults and one-half price for youth 17 and under with an adult. T-shirts will be given to riders while the supply lasts. After the ride is completed, food will be available at Town Hall Bike Shop, 10 E. Rhea St.

Routes include:

  • Eight-mile family/beginner
  • 22-mile River Hill
  • 36-mile Hickory Dickory Knob, in Doyle
  • 50-mile Challenge Climb, to Spencer

All proceeds benefit the Aaron Shafer Memorial Foundation, which provides scholarships to high school students, as well as donations to non-profit community organizations.
