Starting on Nov. 6 (and recurring every first and third Monday of each month), the Van Buren County Health Department and Community Health Center is hosting a free “chair yoga bingo” game at the Van Buren Senior Center, in Spencer.

Yoga has been proven to increase flexibility, balance, muscle mass, agility, and bone density, which helps maintain the ability to live independently and reduces the risk of fall-related injuries. Also, daily physical activity, like yoga, helps reduce the risk of developing coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and colon cancer.

Chair yoga poses are performed while sitting in a chair and are less strenuous than other yoga styles. Therefore, chair yoga is ideal for seniors and persons interested in learning how to practice basic yoga.

Join us for fun, fitness, and prizes.
