The City of Spencer responded to a water main break, at approximately 5:30 a.m., June 20, 2018. According to Spencer City Mayor Mickey Robinson, “ A 12-inch main line break occurred at the water treatment plant, and it began to affect the valley area. We on turned the access to the McMinnville water to minimize the impact to the residents.”

Within hours of that initial break being repaired, a construction error severed the line at the Hickory Valley Road area.

“There were actually four breaks all together within a 24-hour period. Two of them were because of the age of the system, and two were damage caused by construction projects.”

If residents are aware a break in the integrity of the water lines, they are encouraged to notify the City of Spencer at (931) 946-2351 or after hours to contact central dispatch at (931) 946-4000.
