Budget committee approves donation to sheriff’s office

The White County Budget Committee, on Dec. 3, to discuss the county giving the White County Sheriff’s Office a donation in the amount of $3,863 toward the purchase of tourniquets.

These tourniquets will be carried by all deputies for use on the job should they come across someone who has been severely cut. A motion was made and approved to send the matter to full court.

Before the meeting was adjourned, White County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson asked the committee when they planned to start the process of approving a budget for the upcoming fiscal year. White County Director of Finance Chad Marcum said the process of approving a financial calendar for the year usually takes place in January.

The next budget committee meeting will take place Jan. 7, 2019, directly after the Solid Waste Committee meeting.
