Spring is here and it is time to get those beds ready for planting, and Buds and Blooms Greenhouse is open and ready to help you pick the right plants to fill them.
Allen, Vonda, Dot, Trey and TJ Selby have been busy preparing a wide variety of plants.
“We all love flowers,” said Vonda, “Even Trey and TJ. Ever since we have been married, he has wanted to do this,” said Vonda. “It has been his lifelong dream.”
Gardening and growing plants, and watching them through their various stages can be a very addictive hobby. The Selby’s consider themselves very fortunate to be able to take their love of plants to the next level and share them with others.
Not only do they stock colorful annuals and bedding plants, they also carry several varieties of vegetables and a selection of ferns and tropicals.
Special orders are welcome; “We will try to find the plants for them,” said Allen. “Say if someone needed 30 ferns for an event, we can have them the very next day or if someone wanted a certain color we will do our best to get it for them.”
The knowledgeable staff can help customers choose the right plant for that hard to grow place. Whether shade, full sun, part one or the other, wet, dry or a combination, personnel at Buds and Blooms will try to give each and every customer one on one service.
“We have a selection of containers that customers can choose from,” Vonda said. “Then we can select the plants and colors they want and we will plant it for them. Or if someone has a container already, they can bring it to us and we will fix it with whatever plants they want, using their chosen color scheme.”
Buds and Blooms carry a great variety of the most wanted annuals. “We have 30 different varieties of petunias and five different types of Wave petunias,” said Dot.
Drive a little and save a lot, “That is true,” said Dot, “we try to keep our prices a little lower than in town.”
Special service is no problem at Buds and Blooms, “If someone wants to come by and reserve plants for Mother’s Day, we will keep them and they can pick them up later,” said Allen.
This year the greenhouse has filled its shelves with the tried and true standards and a few personal favorites but Allen said, “If someone has a special request for next year, just let us know.”
