Calvin Max Hyder, 95, of McMinnville, passed away May 12, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Hyder was born June 30, 1922, in Algood.
He was the owner and operator of Hyder Shoe Shop for 50 years, a member of McMinnville First Baptist Church, and a member of Warren Masonic Lodge No. 125 F. & A.M.
Mr. Hyder was preceded in death by parents, Charlie Milton Hyder and Mary Alice Bohannon Hyder; wife, Elene Stone Hyder; sons, Calvin M. Hyder Jr., Michael L. Hyder; sisters, Hazel Randolph, Dimple Hyder, Ann Rich, Geneva Shubert; and brothers, Boyd Hyder, Charles Hyder, and Clinton Hyder.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Janice Cope Hyder; grandsons, Jonathan L. Hyder and wife Kristie L. McKinley, Joseph P. Hyder and wife Adrienne W. Lerner; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mark and Shelba Gribble and Spenser Hill.
A graveside service and interment will be 1 p.m., May 15, 2018, at Old Zion Cemetery, in White County. Bro. Danny Barnes will officiate. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., May 14, and 10 a.m.-noon, May 15, at McMinnville Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be 8 p.m., May 14, at the funeral home and will be conducted by Warren Masonic Lodge No. 125.
