Camp Lejeune vets awarded benefits for eight diseases

Veterans who served at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, between Aug. 1 1953, and Dec. 31, 1987, are eligible for V.A. benefits and compensation if they are diagnosed with any of eight diseases. The covered conditions are:

  • Adult leukemia
  • Aplastic anemia and other myelodysplastic syndromes
  • Bladder cancer
  • Kidney cancer
  • Liver cancer
  • Multiple myeloma
  • Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
  • Parkinson’s disease
