Carolyn Ruth Stephens Oliver

Carolyn Ruth Stephens Oliver, 73, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 6, 2018, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital, in Nashville.

Ms. Oliver was born Jan. 28, 1945, to Edmonda Young Stephens and Howard Stephens, in the Indian Mound community.

She enjoyed her profession as a beautician, as well as crossword puzzles, game shows, and Court TV.

Ms. Oliver was preceded in death by her father and her brother-in-law, B.K. Luna

Survivors include her son, Brent Oliver and wife Gina, of Tuscumbia, Alabama; daughter, Julie Jolyn Walker, of Sparta; granddaughters, Brittani Randolph, Abby Oliver, Emma Grace Oliver, Maddie Grace Bailey, Molly Walker; mother, Edmonda Stephens; sister, Jo Luna; and nephew, Stephen Luna.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Feb. 8, 2018, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Indian Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Feb. 7, at the funeral home. Bro. David Frazier and Bro. Frank Randolph will officiate. Music will be performed by The Patterson Family.

Stephen Luna, John C. Ward, Mark Young, Jeff Young, Jack Kyle Franklin, and Ricky Young will serve as pallbearers. Nick Hallums, Levoy Knowles, John-John Cloyd, Daniel Winnett, Joey Cloyd, Joe Hallums, Matt Davis, Michael Davis, and Randy Young will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Carolyn. She was such a beautiful person. May God wrap his loving arms around you during this most difficult time.
