Wendy Jean Norgaard Grenz, 65, was born to Don and Ada Norgaard, on July 1, 1953, in Tyler, Minnesota, and grew up on the Norgaard farm near Tyler.

She graduated from Tyler High School, in 1971, with her future husband. On Nov. 24, 1972, she married Laurel Grenz, and, a few months later, the young couple bought a house in St. Paul, Minnesota. Keaton Elliott Rice, 24, of Doyle, passed away Jan. 29, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Rice was born Nov. 24, 1994, in Sparta.

He was a heavy equipment operator. His passion was his love for his family, and he enjoyed working on or driving anything with wheels or tracks on it.

Mary Louise Dibrell Shockley, 89, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 31, 2019, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta

Mrs. Shockley was born July 2, 1929, to John Henry Dibrell and Dimple Mai Dibrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Robert Shockley; brothers, John Henry Dibrell, Sammy Dibrell; sister, Louis Dibrell; and sister-in-law, Joyce Dibrell.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Feb. 2, 2019, Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends noon-1 p.m., Feb. 2, at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Jane Thompson Bohannon, 77, passed away Jan. 30, 2019, at her residence after a five-year battle with breast cancer.

Jane was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Sparta, to Herbert Brown Thompson and Elizabeth Cole Thompson, who proceeded her in death.

She retired from Findlay Elementary School after 30 years of teaching kindergarten and first grade. She formed close friendships with many of her co-workers that she carried throughout her life, still meeting them monthly for dinner, until her illness no longer allowed.

Margaret Virginia Haston Narramore Cope, 93, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 27, 2019 at NHC Healthcare of Sparta.

Funeral service will be noon, Feb. 1, 2019, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Plainview Cemetery in the Cassville community.  The family will receive 11 a.m.-noon, Feb. 1, at the funeral home.  Hunter Funeral Home.  Doug Benningfield will officiate.

Patricia Carol Holland, 83, of Walling, passed away Jan. 26, 2019, at Life Care Center of Sparta.

Mrs. Holland was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Beckley, West Virginia, the daughter of Leonard Harris and Ova Webb Harris.

She was a member of Pistole Baptist Church for many years. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and spending time in the kitchen baking. Mrs. Holland retired from Mallory Timers where she worked as a receptionist operator.

Mildred Frances Fowler Eller, 91, passed away Jan. 28, 2019, at NHC Healthcare, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Eller was born March 26, 1927, to Jessie Fowler and Lovie Bumbalough Fowler, in the Cherry Creek community of White County.

She married Homer Lee Eller, on May 27, 1944. Together, they had four daughters.

Mrs. Eller was baptized by Bro. Monroe Lawson, on Sept. 11, 1941, and was added to the Lord’s church (Acts 2:41). She was a faithful member at the church of Christ at Plainview.

Charles “Charlie” R. Popp, 58, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 18, 2019, at his home.

Mr. Popp was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his parents, Billie and Frances Popp, of Sparta; brothers, Danny Popp, of Florida, Billy Popp, of Smithville; sister, Diana Popp, of Sparta; several nephews, a niece, cousins; and special friends, Dennis and Shauntae Barr and Cameron and Katie Farris.

Mr. Popp’s wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of life, which will be 1-4 p.m., Feb. 9, 2019, at Golden Mountain Ministries, in Sparta.

She was born June 14, 1930, in Hyattsville, Maryland, the daughter of John Forney and Catherine Dixon.

Valerie Kay Sherrell Clemmer, 42, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 10, 2019, at her residence.

Ms. Clemmer was born Oct. 17, 1976, in Channelview, Texas.

She was a homemaker.

Ms. Clemmer was preceded in death by her father, Garnett Shelton “Jack” Sherrell Jr.

Survivors include her mother, Patricia Sherrell, of Sparta; son,

Cameron Allen Clemmer, of Texas City, Texas; daughter, Cassandra Alena Clemmer, of Texas City, Texas; and brother, Shawn Sherrell, of Sparta
