Warriorettes finish off week winning 3 out of 4

The White County High School Warriorettes’ softball team finished up its regular season last week, winning three of their last four games. The Warriorettes took on Jackson County, on May 1, winning 13-0. On May 2, the Warriorettes took on Cannon County first, winning that game 4-3 on a walk-off but lost to Upperman 6-5. On May 3, the Warriorettes celebrated Senior Night, honoring their four seniors before the game. After the ceremonies were over, the Warriorettes avenged the loss from the evening before winning 7-4 over Upperman.

Warriors get swept by Cookeville to finish off their regular season

The White County High School baseball team finished off its regular season on May 1 and May 2 when they traveled to Cookeville to take Cookeville High School. On May 1, the Warriors lost the lead early and couldn’t recover, losing 11-2 to Cookeville. On May 2, the Warriors and Cookeville were locked in a pitcher’s duel, with neither team being able to score until the fourth inning. White County would strike for two runs in the fourth inning, and Cookeville would get one in the bottom of the fourth and two in the bottom of the fifth to win by a final score of 3-2.

WCMS Warriorettes finish season going 2-2 in CTC Conference

This past weekend, the White County Middles School Warriorettes played in the CTC conference tournament. The Warriorettes won their first game of the tournament, on April 28, winning 1-0 over Harris Middle School. The Warriorettes would lose, on April 29, to North Franklin 6-0 to put them in the loser’s bracket. Their first opponent was Tullahoma Middle School, who the Warriorettes defeated 12-4. The Warriorettes would then have to face off against their first-round opponents, Harris Middle School. The Warriorettes would fall in that game by a final score 3-2, ending their season.

WCHS Warriors fall to Coffee County Central on Senior Night

The White County High School Warriors’ baseball team was unable to keep pace with the Coffee County Central Red Raiders, on April 28. The Red Raiders came to life in the second inning, scoring five runs in the second to seize control of the game, and the Warriors were never able to answer. The Red Raiders won by a final score of 12-1.

In the first inning, Coffee County captured the lead when they hit a sac fly that scored the first run of the game.

Warriorettes get swept by Rhea, win against Stone

On April 25, the White County High School Warriorettes’ softball team took on Rhea County in a District 6AAA doubleheader. Rhea County got the sweep over the Warriorettes, winning 9-6 and 4-3. On April 27, The Warriorettes finished off the season sweep when they defeated Stone Memorial High School 3-0.

In the first game, on April 25, the Warriorettes and Rhea County passed the lead back and forth, but, eventually, Rhea County prevailed 9-6.

Despite the loss, the Warriorettes collected six hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Rhea County had eight hits on the way to victory.

The White County High School Warriors’ baseball team split a pair of district games last week. On April 24, the Warriors jumped out to an early lead vs. Stone Memorial high school, scoring 10 runs in the first three innings, and they ended up winning by a final score of 11-1. In the second game of the week, Rhea County jumped out to an early lead on the Warriors, and the Warriors couldn’t answer, losing 11-1 to Rhea County.

This past weekend, the White County High School Warriors’ baseball team traveled to Chattanooga to play in the Soddy Daisy Trojan Classic. This year’ the Warriors were only able to get in two of their four scheduled games, because of all the rain that came in. On April 21, the Warriors took on Ooltewah High School to get the tournament started. The Warriors lost in a pitcher’s duel 2-1. On April 22, the Warriors got their game against Tullahoma High School in after the rain had stopped. The Warriors, who were shorthanded on the day, lost 6-0.

The White County High School Warriors’ baseball team got swept in their season series to the Pioneers. The Warriors lost earlier this season to Warren County 13-3 on March 14. In the first game of the back-to-back vs. the Pioneers, the Warriors took on Warren County at home. The Warriors took an early first inning lead and had the lead going into the top of the fifth inning. The White County Middle School Warriorettes’ softball team split a pair of conference games last week vs. Harris Middle School. In the first game, the Warriorettes grabbed an early lead scoring six runs in the top of the first inning on its way to a 7-3 victory over Harris Middle. In the second game, the Warriorettes lost the lead and then tied it up to go into extra innings and ended up falling 6-5.

The White County High School Warriorettes’ softball team split a pair of district game this past week. Both games they played in would take extra innings to decide the outcome of the game. The Warriorettes were able to avenge a loss from early in the season, on April 19, when they traveled to Crossville and took care of Cumberland County High School in a slugfest 15-10 in eight innings. The Warriorettes would then take on Cookeville High School, on April 20, and lose a close one 10-8 in eight innings.

On April 19, the Warriorettes had trouble putting away Cumberland County, but eventually, the Warriorettes prevailed 15-10.

The White County High School Warriors baseball team got an early first inning lead, on April 14, when they traveled to Smithville. The Warriors couldn’t hold on to the lead and eventually lost 5-1 to the Tigers. The Warriors took the loss despite out-hitting DeKalb County 7-4.

The Warriors started the game off quick scoring a run in the first inning of the contest. Chris Mills got things going for the Warriors when he tripled to lead off the game. The White County Middle School baseball team took home a 6-3 victory over Stone Memorial, on April 14.

The Warriors took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third, Trent Pryor singled to drive in the first run for the Warriors. Tucker Nash would then hit a groundball that the Stone shortstop couldn’t handle, scoring two more runs for the Warriors giving the Warriors the 3-1 lead. D.J. The No. 26 ranked Tennessee Tech baseball team (30-9) won its fifth straight game Tuesday afternoon, hitting the road to defeat Alabama A&M (8-32), 10-4 in Huntsville, Alabama. behind a big fifth inning and strong showing on the hill.

Sophomore Ty King earned his second win of the season, tossing five innings while holding the Bulldogs to just one hit, one walk and one unearned run. The right-handed hurler struck out seven while moving to 2-0 on the year.

A historical showing on the hill proved enough for Tennessee Tech closer Ethan Roberts to claim his second adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week honors of the year Monday, sharing the weekly award with Southeast Missouri’s Justin Murphy.

A native of nearby Sparta, Tennessee., Roberts was dominant in two relief outings last week, including tallying the final three outs in a 5-2 victory at No. 19 Vanderbilt on Tuesday.
