Do you like scaring the bejeebers out of people? How is your growl? Got a strong stomach? Then Join the Cedar Grove Fire Department in turning the woods into a place of memories – actually nightmares. This is the fifth season that the department has hosted the haunted trail.

“It started off kind of small, but has taken off and gotten pretty big,” explained Fire Chief Kevin Bivins. “We see a few thousand people during the month of October.”

Haunting season may seem far away, but to provide quality nights of fright, the planning, design, and building of the trail begins much in advance. This can be a fun way for a group to work together by developing a unique scream scene.

CGFD is looking for dedicated people that will commit to volunteering during the season. This is a fundraiser for the volunteer fire department and helps with public service hour requirements for HOPE scholarships.

If anyone is interested in being a part of this year’s seasonal fright-fest, contact the CGFD at (931) 946-2441.
