Region 5-5A released their All-Region Football last month.
The coaches of the region got together at the end of the regular season to vote on the superlatives from the region for this season.
With a region that was made up of seven deeply athletic teams, being named for postseason honors is quite an accomplishment.
White County High School had just three players named to the All-Region team. Kade Clark, Will Griggs, and Allen Shoupe garnered All-Region honors.
Clark was a sophomore linebacker and receiver for the Warriors this season. Clark helped lead the Warriors’ defense, on Friday night, and led the Warriors in receiving.
Will Griggs was a junior safety/linebacker and receiver for the Warriors this season. Griggs led the Warriors in tackles the past two seasons but missed four games this season because of an ankle injury. However, even with the missed games because of the injury, Griggs was still a big part in the Warriors’ defense and was seen many nights flying around the field.
The final member from the Warriors on the All-Region team was a force for WCHS on offense. Shoupe led the team in rushing this season. The senior running back led the Warriors’ offense all season long.
