Clifford Eugene “Gene” Kirby

Clifford Eugene “Gene” Kirby, 66, of the Cassville community of White County, passed away April 2, 2017, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Mr. Kirby was born Oct. 25, 1950, in White County, to Charlie Kirby and Mary Ellen Kerr Kirby.

He was a member of Community Fellowship Church, in Sparta, and enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and spending time with his family. However, his true joy was being a grandpa.

Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Barbara Diane  Kirby; daughters, Jeanina “Nina” Kirby Stoglin (husband Tony), Katrina M. Kirby, Melissa “Missy” D. Howard, Michelle D. Mullican and husband Tim, and Amanda Flowers and husband Chris; son, Clifford “Cliff” Kirby and wife Nikki “Tik”; grandchildren, Hannah Howard, Ethan Parks, Aaron Shoupe, Leah Mullican, Sarah Mullican, Molly Mullican, Christian Hall, Cameron Hall, Courtney Hall, Lylia Kirby; and four great- grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., April 5, 2017, at Presley Funeral Home, in Cookeville, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery, in Doyle. Eugene Lawson, Chad Chaffin and Hank Chaffin will officiate. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., April 4, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m., April 5, at the funeral home.

Presley Funeral Home, in Cookeville, is in charge of arrangements.
