Clifford H. Officer, 82, of Sparta, passed away May 6, 2005.
Officer was born June 28, 1922, in White County, to William Officer and Bessie Martin Officer.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a farmer.
Officer was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Ruth Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Howard Officer, of Sparta; two sons, Charles Officer, Larry Officer and wife Brenda, of Sparta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Jerry Verble, of Murfreesboro, Donna and Wayne Johnson, of Rock Island, Betty and Louis Cooley, of Brentwood; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Blair, Jeff Verble, Stephanie Weber, Robert Johnson, Tim Johnson, Chris Cooley, Russell Cooley; nine great-grandchildren, Katelyn Blair, Justin Blair, Jillian Verble, Thomas Verble, Tyler Weber, Tanner Weber, Tucker Weber, Mason Johnson, Kyle Johnson; one sister, Rubye Brogden, of Sparta; two brothers, Clay Officer, Willie Leslie Officer, both of Sparta; one brother-in-law, J.B. Hill, of Murfreesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m., May 9, 2005, at Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Rev. Ron Dyer will officiate.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
