Cynthia Turcott

Cynthia Turcott, 58, of Sparta, passed away Aug. 5, 2019, at her home.

Mrs. Turcott was born Jan. 18, 1961, in Fairmont, Minnesota, the daughter of John Marushin and Ellen Itzen Marushin.

She retired after 31 years with the Veterans Administration. She founded the Second Chance Ranch for rescued animals, mainly horses, which she loved dearly.

Mrs. Turcott was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Marushin and Joe Marushin.

Survivors include her husband, William Turcott, of Sparta; brother, Jim Marushin (Lori), of Fairmont, Minnesota; and sister, Candace Shahan, of Minnesota.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m., Aug. 11, 2019, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends 2-3 p.m., Aug. 11, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Second Chance Ranch.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
