The Dash for Dani is a 5k Water Run where runners and walkers are guaranteed to get soaked and have fun.
The race, which will be held August 17, will begin and end on Churchill Drive at the football field parking lot of White County High School. Along the route, which will take participants past the hospital, along Spring Street, in front of the high school and the YMCA and down Ben Lomand Drive before returning to Churchill Drive, volunteers will be “keeping participants cool” with water stations. Plans are underway to have a “big splash,” at the finish line, which will be sure to cool off anyone who may have missed a water station along the way.
All participants will receive a medal, and there will be trophies for the first place male and female runners in each age group.
A Kids 1-mile fun run, for participants ages 12 and under who don’t want to run or walk the entire 5k route, will take place immediately following the 5k run which is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
On-site registration will begin at 8 a.m., but pre-registration is available through the Dash for Dani Facebook event page or contacting Bushido Karate Center (one of the sponsors of the event) at (931)444-1456.
All proceeds from the race will go to help local athlete Dani Auberger with expenses associated with being a part of the Team USA Karate and Kickboxing Team.
