David Earl Bohannon

David Earl Bohannon, 96, of Cookeville, passed away Nov. 23, 2013, at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey.
Mr. Bohannon was born May 7, 1917, in the Dry Valley community, of Putnam County, toDavid Officer and Cecil Elizabeth Bartlett Bohannon.
He retired from Goodyear in Akron, Ohio. After moving back to Cookeville, he retired a second time as supervisor in the Department of Inspection and Tool Engineering at McCord’s.
He was a 65-year member of Adoniram-Joppa Lodge #517 F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge in Akron. Mr. Bohannon was of the Baptist faith.
He was a loving, devoted and faithful husband to his late wife of 69 years, Dorothy Verble Bohannon, who preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2006.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Agnes Goff, and two brothers, Charles Bohannon and Wesley Bohannon.
Survivors include his sister, Marie Officer, of Hermitage, and several nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews and other extended family members.
Funeral service was 11 a.m., Nov. 26, 2013, in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, with burial in Welch Memorial Cemetery, in Monterey. Bro. Freddie Copeland officiated.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
