Debra Elaine Carter, 64, of Smithville, passed away July 2, 2019, at Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital, in Smithville.
Mrs. Carter was born July 5, 1954, to William Everett Cantrell and Jimmie Lou Montgomery Cantrell.
She was a member of the Mt. Herman Baptist Church and a retired factory worker.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Junior, Donald, Frank, Robert, Jerry, Harold Cantrell, Virginia Ruth Mise, Wanda Fay Johnson; and father-in-law, R.J. Carter.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Jay Carter, of Smithville; son, Ronald Joshua Carter, of Smithville; stepdaughter, Jayme Lynn (Nathan) Dowell, of Smithville; grandchildren, Ryan Joshua Carter, Ethan Daniel Carter, Isaiah Dowell, Kylynn Dowell; siblings, Carlene (Ricky) Brown, of Sparta, Diana (Jerome) Phifer, of Texas, Barbara (Farrell) Henderson, of Sparta, Melvin (Mary) Cantrell, of Clinton; mother-in-law, Rubbie Carter, of Smithville; sister-in-law, Lynn (Larry) Eaton, of Smithville; special niece and nephew, Austin Cantrell, Rhonda Cantrell; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., July 6, 2019, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel, with burial in Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Bro. Garry Caplinger and Bro. Michael Hale officiated.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
