Domestic dispute leads to a shooting at FICOSA in Cookeville

According to the Cookeville Police Department, a woman is dead after opening fire on two individuals in the parking lot of FICOSA manufacturing plant in Cookeville, Tennessee.

At approximately 10:45 am this morning, Putnam County 911 received an emergency call regarding a possible shooting at the FICOSA plant located at the Highlands Industrial Park in Cookeville, Tennessee.

According to a Spokesperson with the Cookeville Police Department, the shooting occurred during an altercation involving two females, one of which was the shooter, and a male victim. Officials are calling this an “isolated domestic violence incident”.

D.A Bryant Dunaway stressed that, ” The scene has been secured and there is no active threat to the community.”

Both victims are in critical condition according to District Attorney Bryant Dunaway. One victim has been flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. The other was taken by ambulance to Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

FICOSA was open for business and did have employees inside the plant at the time of the shooting. At this time the investigation is ongoing as the Cookeville Police Department is in charge.

It is not certain at this time what the exact motive is that caused this domestic dispute. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Cookeville Police Department at 931-526-2125.
