Submitted by Landon D. Medley

Efforts are underway by the Burritt College Museum to collect information and materials on Doyle College. Some of its founders were from Van Buren County. William N. Billingsley was the former superintendent of White County schools before becoming

president at Burritt College. Robert Jones was a former Burritt College student that became president of Doyle College before later becoming the first president of Middle Tennessee Teachers College (MTSU). Without any officials records of the school, we are asking the public to help in gathering information about teachers and students, as well as pictures of the campus and buildings. If you wish to help contact me at (931) 946-2951.
