Sparta Police Chief Jeff Guth reports a recording-breaking amount of prescription medications turned in locally at the National Drug Take Back Day on April 26 with 86 pounds of unused or expired medications. Guth was set up outside Walgreens to collect medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Typically, about 50 pounds of medications are turned in at a drug take back event.
