Ryan- We will miss you greatly, until we are all reunited in heaven. Forgive us our weakness, as we cry for our loss.We live in hope for the day when He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev. 21:1)
You were a good man, and we were both honored and proud to welcome you (and yours) into our family.Until then, don’t forget to look up Sam… I’ll bet he already has a fishing pole ready for you… he always did know the best fishing spots!

Ryan said he needed to celebrate, and asked if it happened to be my birthday. Of course it wasn’t, and the conversation returned to normal. I mentioned that I had just graduated my Master’s. He suddenly burst out with giddy excitement, took my hand and rushed over to Marie, dramatically insisting we celebrate. They drove us over to the Keg and bought food and drink to share. We all knew it was an excuse to party, but he stayed in character the whole time. He was playing it up too, making up accomplishments he claimed I made, and whenever he was right, more celebrating! Marie reigned in the celebratory drinks, but we all laughed the whole time. He gave me an enormous hug and thanked me for graduating. He was so incredibly awesome. I’ll miss you Ryan.

The day before Ryan went into the Marines he spent the night with me.The next morning at day-break i kept hearing a strange groaning but when i went outside i didnt see or hear anything more.I went back to bed and a few minutes later it started up again,,,,this time when i went out i looked across the street at the shopping center and i saw a man pinned up against a wall by a car.We went to check it out and the guy had his door open and the door had his neck and head pinned really tight to the wall.We tried to pick the rear-end up enough to give some relief but it was too heavy.2 more people stopped so we tried it again-same result. It started to rain so Ryan leaned in a little with an umbrella over the guy. Finally the fire dept. came and 8 big guys picked the car completely up and moved it a foot or two.Im happy i was with my son that day,He was and always will be my heroe.

Ryan had a presence that filled every room he stepped into. He was larger than life in his heart and his soul and he insisted on everyone around him being alive whenever he was around. He was easy to love and hard to offend. Quick to lend a hand and always ready to share a laugh. He will be greatly missed… The world has lost a beautiful light far too soon.
