Edward Clay England, 84, passed Feb. 2, 2019, at Life Care Center of Sparta

Mr. England was born July 6, 1934, in Sparta, to Alpha England and Della Rice England.

He served his country in the U.S. Army, 1960-1964. After his service, he enjoyed farming, church, and family.

Mr. England was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Douglas Carl England.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hall Melton England; son, Karl England and wife Cindy; brother, Alpha Eugene England and wife Arleen; grandson, Joshua England; stepsons, Gentry Melton and wife Zarita, Keith Melton and wife Rachel; step-grandsons, Preston Melton, Kelby Melton; and step-granddaughter, Olivia Drennan.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Feb. 5, 2019, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Black Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Feb. 4, at the funeral home. Bro. Steve Gerhart and Alpha Eugene England will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Keith Melton, Kelby Melton, Joshua England, Leonard England, Simeon England, Stewart England, and Preston Melton.

Thurman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
