Findlay Elementary’s 3rd Annual Spring Fling will be April 30, 2004, from 3 – 7 p.m. on the school grounds. The community is invited to attend.
“It’s the fundraiser we do every year,” said Janet Webb, president of Findlay Fans, the PTO organization for the school. “This year the proceeds will go toward improving technology in the classrooms. Some classes are in need of computers, TV’s, and VCR’s. The teachers have provided a list of needed items.”
This year’s event will feature entertainment by local performer, Tasha Dunn, the Findlay cheerleaders, the Findlay Chorus, and a drama group from First Baptist Church.
Admission to the Spring Fling is free, but tickets can be purchased for games and food. Tickets can be bought in advance at the school from 7:30 – 8 a.m. each morning for 5 for $1, or at the event, 4 for $1.
“We’ll have lots of games, like an inflatable slide with an obstacle course, a dunking booth, bouncing booths, a cake walk and fire truck rides,” Webb said.
She added that if it rains, the fling will go on inside the school.
An auction of donated items will begin at 6 p.m. A variety of theme baskets will be available for bids, including a gardening basket, a Lego basket, a Barbie basket, a family game night basket, a handyman basket, a chocolate lover’s basket, and a golf basket, which will include rounds of golf donated by River Watch and Bear Trace. A Big Bertha Hawkeye golf club will be also up for auction. The largest item, donated by Richmond Boruff and Sandy Daniels of Bill Boruff Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Trailer World, is a 1993 Dodge Grand Caravan LE.
