A man who spent several decades in the broadcasting industry and then the past 12 years in the banking industry has retired – again. Bob Gallaher, former owner of WTZX-AM Radio Station, in Sparta, WGSQ-FM, in Cookeville, and WCSD-FM, in Cookeville, as well as interests in other radio stations, has attempted to “stay” retired more than a couple of times. However, his love for people and his expertise in marketing drew him back to the new career of banking, with his longtime business partner and friend, Millard Oakley. Gallaher was honored April 30, 2018, at the bank with a celebration that was open to the public. A meet-and-greet type atmosphere provided lots of reminiscing and laughter. Gallaher’s wife, Dawn, was by his side, as she has been for more than five decades.

Dawn Gallaher, wife of Bob Gallaher, joined her husband at his retirement celebration. Dawn, a former White County school teacher, was just as popular as her husband as guests stopped by to talk. What started out as a hug looks more like a couple preparing to hit the dance floor. However, it was all in good fun as Mabel Moore wishes Bob Gallaher a happy retirement.
