Pete and Kim Serro, owners of Visivo, recently moved their family and business from New Jersey to White County.
Yearning for a better lifestyle, including less stress and a safe place to raise their three children, the Serros scoured Tennessee looking for the perfect spot to relocate, and after extensive research they knew that all roads were leading to Sparta.
“We researched every town in every county in Middle Tennessee, and everything we read on the internet kept leading us back to Sparta: the schools, the Expositor articles, our realtor, Barb,” said Pete.
The Serros started Visivo 21 years ago. Visivo means “visual” in Italian, and that is just what their business is – all things visual.
They create logos, marketing strategies, package design, corporate identities, ad copy and layout, graphic design, event marketing, signs, banners, vehicle lettering, decals, among a multitude of additional products a business owners may need to promote their company or a product.
Visivo strives to provide eye-catching images of the highest quality.
Kim and Pete are devoted to excellence and building a relationship with their clients.
They take pride in utilizing state-of-the-art cutting-edge resources to enhance their artistic talent, allowing them to create the most innovative and unique marketing products available.
Their East Coast business clients have remained intact because of the convenience of electronics and shipping.
“We have clients, not customers,” said Kim. “A customer comes in and buys something and then leaves. We offer packages that other marketing and sign companies don’t.
We are a full service company.”
Visivo not only makes signs for companies, they also advise on color schemes and additional marketing needs the company may have.
“We are giving vision to their dreams,” said Kim “From concept to completion.
We do our homework and follow through.”
Pete is an artist, and Kim describes herself as an artisan.
“My design is strictly straight-line architectural design, following specs and things like that,” said Kim. “Pete is more of the artist. He sees outside the box. I see inside the box. That way we cover everybody.”
Pete graduated from Arcadia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in graphic design and a minor in business. He obtained another Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in painting and illustration, with a minor in music.
Kim discovered an interest in art, in 1986, while working on Wall Street.
She quit her high-profile job in finance to cultivate her newfound love of art.
She worked as an apprentice to a sign painter/gold leaf artist in the evenings while working for the company as a salesperson during the day.
The artistic duo has received numerous awards and honors for their unique creativity and were chosen to make signs for President George Bush’s reelection campaign in New Jersey. To add to their impressive portfolio, they have worked on classified government projects at Fort Monmouth Army Base and for the Earl Naval Weapons Base, in New Jersey.
The Serros have three children. Matt attends White County High School, and David and Shelly attend Findlay Elementary.
All three children have shown artistic ability and an interest in the family business.
Pete is also an accomplished guitarist and has engineered and produced albums and soundtracks. He has personally appeared on six recording projects.
Kim enjoys writing in her free time.
She has many nationally published short stories and poems and is working on a book.
Visivo is at 3712 Monterey Highway and can be contacted at 738-3712 or toll-free 1-877-833-7338.
