Glin Dallas Emerton

Glin Dallas Emerton, 70, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away Nov. 27, 2001.
Emerton was born July 14, 1931, in Celina, to Joe and Linnie Goolsby Emerton.
He served in the United States Air Force. Emerton was retired from Conrail after serving as customer service representative for 28 years. He taught school for two years in Clay County and also served as principal for four years. Emerton played football for Western Kentucky and graduated from Tennessee Technological University.
Emerton was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard Keith Emerton;
three sisters, Rose Copeland, Elsa Hampton and Thelma Jo Emerton; and one brother, Howard Willis Emerton.
Survivors include his wife, June Coffman Emerton of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Michelle Emerton of Smyrna; one daughter-in-law, Paula York Emerton of Indianapolis, Ind.; four brothers, George Emerton, Ray Emerton, Charles Emerton and Fred Emerton all of Celina; one sister, Lucy Copeland of Celina; and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Ricky, Tricia and Alex.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Dec. 1, 2001, at the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Dr. Wayne Etheridge officiated.
Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville was in charge of arrangements.
